Meet Dr Ruvinsky

Dr. Ruvinsky’s Bio

Dr. Ruvinsky grew up in Brooklyn, New York. After graduating from Canarsie High School, Dr. Ruvinsky was accepted into St. John’s University School of Pharmacy. While attending St. John’s University, he was consistently placed on the University dean’s list and earned acceptance into the prestigious Rho-Chi pharmaceutical honor society. Dr. Ruvinsky graduated St. John’s University in 1999 and was one of only a few recipients of a prestigious magna cum laude award in recognition of his academic achievements.

After graduating from St. John’s University, Dr. Ruvinsky went on to continue his academic training at Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery. While attending Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery, he became interested in the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery. As a dental student, Dr. Ruvinsky spent countless hours volunteering at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in order to learn about the broad and fascinating field of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Ruvinsky went on to graduate Columbia University at the top of his class, scoring in the 99th percentile on the National Dental Board examinations.

Dr. Ruvinsky was subsequently accepted into one of the oldest and most prestigious oral and maxillofacial surgical training programs in the United States, at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. During his time at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Dr. Ruvinsky received extensive training in all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery including orthognathic, trauma, and TMJ surgery. In addition, during his residency training Dr. Ruvinsky received extensive training in implant surgery, and various bone grafting techniques. As part of his oral and maxillofacial surgical training, Dr. Ruvinsky received a medical degree from Stony Brook University School of Medicine and completed one year of general surgery training at Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
In 2018 Dr. Ruvinsky excepted a prestigious teaching position at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine department of oral and maxillofacial surgery where he teaches the latest surgical techniques to oral and maxillofacial surgery residents as well as dental students.

Dr. Ruvinsky is dually licensed in dentistry and medicine and is Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. It is on this foundation of technical and academic experience that Dr. Ruvinsky has built a practice characterized by compassionate care. “My approach is to provide the most comforting environment possible, given the normal amount of apprehension inherent in a visit to the oral surgeon’s office. I take the time to give my patients all the individual attention they deserve, offering honesty and reassurance, as well as professional competence.”
